White Stork has also donated £10,000 to an orphanage in Prague run by the Tereza Maxova Foundation. Since the start of the war they have been taking in many Ukrainian orphans and we felt this was a great cause to support.

An update on Tania and Dasha. They have been living now in Fulham for 2 months - Dasha is extremely happy at her new school and winning all sorts of chess tournaments. Her English is getting better by the day and she’s enrolled in lots of extra clubs. We’re so glad it worked out for them in London.

Two months ago we met Tania and Dasha at the Ukrai

Two months ago we met Tania and Dasha at the Ukrainian border when we were delivering supplies. She had no idea where they were going to go or what they were going to do. We are delighted to say that together with their friend Olga, they arrived this weekend in London, sponsored by Alex who is putting them all up. As we get ready for our next trip out to the border we’d love for your help to spread the word. Our website and Just Giving page are now up and running (link in bio). We’re hoping to raise lots more money, now through an official charity, to deliver much more urgent help to Ukraine. This is Dasha with some of her drawings. It’s been over 2 weeks since we first helped a U

It’s been over 2 weeks since we first helped a Ukrainian family to safety in Cluj. They have been waiting patiently for the UK sponsorship visa scheme to open, and it finally did on Friday. Alex has really kindly agreed to put them up in a spare property in London, but how long will it take for their visas to be accepted? The form in itself was way too complicated, so much so that we had to enlist the help of an immigration lawyer! How is your average Ukrainian refugee expected to be able go through this process whilst fleeing a war torn country? I am ashamed of our Government for deliberately making it slow and complicated. They should be doing much more for the great people of Ukraine in their darkest hour.

While we were dropping more supplies at the border

While we were dropping more supplies at the border yesterday we managed to help Olga and Valentina and their daughters get safely back to Cluj and into an apartment. They got the train from Kyiv to the border, having been in a bunker for the last 2 weeks. Their husbands are staying to fight. Olga is off to Dublin tomorrow where they are accepting thousands of refugees without question, or requirement for biometric passport, which she does not have.

We have just left the border at Sighet with 2 moth

We have just left the border at Sighet with 2 mothers and 2 children who fled Kyiv yesterday, and are taking them back to Cluj. The border is well organised with a steady flow of people being registered, fed and directed to onward transport.

Another trip to the border, this time at Sighet. We delivered more supplies to this sports centre, which are being picked up by Ukrainian vans going up to Kyiv.

We visited an amazing charity currently based at C

We visited an amazing charity currently based at Cluj train station called O Masa Calda, who are cooking hot meals for the refugees arriving by train. They cooked soup for 700 at its peak a few days ago. We are donating £2000 to this amazing cause.

We are now back in London and in the process of ar

We are now back in London and in the process of arranging our next trip out to Romania. Thinking today of this little boy whose face lit up when we gave him a Paddington Bear, brought all the way from London, and donated by my youngest daughter.

We will update with news on the charity we’ve set up soon. We have lots more trips planned…

This is Tania talking to her oldest friends/neighbours Olga and Katia who are still in Ukraine. They almost fled with them 3 days ago but in the end didn’t want to leave their husbands who are fighting the Russians so they have left to a small village away from Kyiv. What is so mad is that Olga is actually “working from home” for her employer Nextiva (who are amazingly still supporting her on full salary) with her laptop and child next to her, despite the awful things going on around her. On international womens day we salute these amazingly brave women who would not leave their husbands and are trying to soldier on.

Tania and family are safely in Cluj and we have found an apartment for them until we can sort their visas for UK, whenever that may be !!!!

We had space in the back of the car to pick up a Ukrainian family at the border.
Tania is a dentist, Amir a builder and their daughter Dasha is an 8 year old chess champion. (One of her few possessions she took with her was her chess medal) They are from Kyiv. They have been in an underground bunker for the last 6 days with virtually no air and managed to escape with the help of the military. They travelled for 36 hours non stop and we were basically the first people they met at the border We are now in the middle of Transylvania and they are sleeping in the hotel. We leave for cluj tomorrow morning where we will hopefully sort flights for them for UK if we can sort their visas

With all the deliveries made Andrew and Burch are now heading back to Cluj. They’ve been able to give a lift to a refugee family who arrived at the border a couple of days ago. As the family haven’t slept in days they’re breaking up the journey by stopping at a hotel so they can have a good rest. Andrew and Burch will post update photos from the border when they can.

Andrew’s children were v proud to see Daddy on BBC News talking about the deliveries and his plan for setting up a charity. Thank you so much to everyone who’s donated so far.
